Arches, garlands and columns

Balloon arches, garlands and columns built to fit your room

Custom arches, organic garlands, columns and photo balloons for weddings, parties and corporate events, designed and installed by a family-owned Lincoln business.

Chapter 01

Start with the room, not the colour chart

An arch looks different in every space. A banquet hall with a high ceiling can carry a tall, wide arch with a sweeping garland over the top, while a church hall or a living room with a low ceiling asks for something shorter and fuller. Ceiling height and the width of the wall or doorway set the size before anything else does.

Door widths matter more than most people expect. A finished piece has to travel from a vehicle, through the front door and into place, so the way in is part of the design. Tell us about the venue's doors, stairs and loading path when you call (402) 432-9610, and the design can be planned around them.

Organic garlands, with balloons in mixed sizes clustered along a curve, suit a long wall, a head table or a tall window. Columns suit entrances and either side of a stage. Photo balloons and foil shapes add a name, a number or a message. Family-owned in Lincoln since 2001, we know which shape suits which room.

From colour pick to install day

The colour conversation comes first. Bring a bridesmaid swatch, a team jersey, a school's colours or a photo of the table linens, and the palette can be matched to it. Latex comes in solid, pearl and metallic finishes, and mixing sizes inside one colour gives a garland a depth that a single size never has.

Each piece is planned to the room, then set up at the venue on the day of the event so the balloons are fresh when the first guest walks in. Arches and garlands go up on a frame, and columns stand on a base. How early we can start depends on when the venue opens its doors, which is why we ask.

Honest communication and showing up on time are what this family has stood on since 2001. When you contact Clowning Around you speak directly with the owner, so the date, the venue access and the colours are settled in one conversation instead of passed along from person to person.

Chapter 03

After the party: how long it holds and how it comes down

Latex slowly loses shine and air, and heat speeds that up. Indoors, away from direct sun and vents, a balloon arch holds up best. Outdoors, sun and wind work against it, so an arch for a patio, a tent or a yard needs more thought about where it stands, what shades it and what it is anchored to.

Foil shapes and numbers keep their air longer than latex does, which makes them a smart accent when a decoration has to look sharp across a whole weekend. If your event runs more than one day, mention it when you book so the build can be planned for that.

Take-down is simple if you plan for it. Pop the balloons together in a bag rather than one at a time, and keep broken latex away from small children and pets, since the pieces are a choking hazard. Ask when you book how take-down should go at your venue, because some halls want everything out the same night.

Blue, white and gold balloon garland around a tall window

A garland around a tall window follows the glass, and an arch over a barn door follows the frame. The room draws the shape, and the balloons fill it in.
